Bosch introduces further enhancements to its Building Integration System

Release 2.3 focuses on improvements for large and largest installations.
  • Improved performance fits with largest installations of many different subsystems over a distributed network
  • Support for latest Bosch H.264 video recorders
  • New reporting services to effectively analyse the event database with many predefined reports and extensive possibilities to customise reports

Bosch Security Systems has introduced a new release of its Building Integration System (BIS). Release 2.3 offers a range of features tailored to large and largest installations with many buildings and sites connected over extensive networks.

The BIS is a modular PC-based suite of software applications that provides total site security management. BIS supports the operator with automated workflow scenarios showing only relevant information and action proposals and triggering other actions automatically in the case of alarms, system faults or other events such as intercom demands.

Improvements introduced in release 2.3 to optimise its operation for larger sites include higher speed and more robust performance, even in difficult environments. The latest release also features support for the new multicore processor technologies and provides much better support for redundant installations to meet the requirements of High Availability (HA) and Failure Tolerant (FT) operation.

BIS 2.3, moreover, comes with new diagnostic tools to monitor the system health status and display early warnings.

The BIS Video Engine, which integrates video systems with other security, safety and communication systems, has been upgraded with support for the latest Bosch HD CCTV products (Divar XF and VIP X1600 XF with H.264 recording and playback). In addition the new release supports the latest Bosch intrusion alarm panels and the Modular Fire Panel 5000 Series.

Reporting has been improved with a new powerful report generator to quickly create any report from the event database. BIS 2.3 offers default and standard reports accessible from different operator views, and reports can be exported in different standard formats and saved for frequent use. In addition, BIS 2.3 now offers even more possibilities for customising the user interface and new possibilities for accessing ad hoc information with a simple mouse click from objects on the location map.

The new release also provides a more powerful authorisation function that enables more specific operator rights and views to be granted and unauthorised actions by an operator to be prohibited.

The Building Integration System (BIS) is targeted at key enterprise security and life-safety functions but also integrates building automation and communication devices. Systems that can be integrated by BIS include fire and intrusion alarm, public address and evacuation, access control, CCTV, intercom, and building automation systems. BIS integrates them via highlevel interfaces to one management solution and offers advanced interoperability between the different subsystems. It integrates a wide range of Bosch and third-party open-standard compliant security systems into one single platform and can be fully tailored to the customer’s organisation and needs.
