Bosch reveals new products for ultimate fire detection in Asia Pacific
The 420 Series detectors are equipped with different kinds of sensors to detect every kind of fire (Single optical sensor, Dual-optical sensor, Thermal sensor and Chemical (CO gas) sensor). Dual Ray Technology is enabled to determine smoke density and particle size, comparing the intensity of scattered light from the differing wavelengths of two LED sources, one infrared and one blue. As a result, false alarms are greatly reduced by more reliable differentiation between fire and other disturbances. In addition, even the smallest smoke particles can be detected for faster and more reliable fire detection in every environment.
Specific parameters, separate from the fire patterns, increase the detector's precision. There are pre-programmed settings for example, for use in dusty environments, or when smokers are present. These parameters allow the detector to clearly distinguish fires from other disturbances over a broader range of operating conditions.
“No two fires are alike, as different substances burn in different ways. For example, smoldering paper in a waste basket generates smoke but very little heat, while an industrial fire involving ethanol gives off no smoke yet has a strong heat flow.” Explains Leonard Hew, Product Marketing Manager “Bosch’s new 420 Series takes these different cases into account and has created a product that can effectively cover all fire criteria. This provides more accurate fire detection.”
The Conventional Fire Panel 500 Series are quick, intuitive control panels that require minimal instruction for installation, maintenance and operation. Operation is supported by a language-independent quick reference guide on the panel with clear explanations of the most important functions.
False alarms are minimized as an alarm will only be triggered if a fire is identified by automatic detectors in at least two zones.
The 500 Series has a modern, attractive design that blends discreetly into the surrounding decor. There are three different panel types available for up to eight zones and 256 detectors and are ideal for applications such as small shops, warehouses, production facilities, office buildings, schools, and kindergartens.
Officially launched at a two-day event from August 18th – 19th 2011, about 100 participants from across the Asia Pacific region were introduced to the features and benefits of the products.
Event highlights included the live demonstration of the products’ special features and use in different applications, where participants witnessed the easy integration of these products with the Bosch Building Integration System and public address – clearly proving the capabilities of a fully integrated safety system from Bosch.
